EASTER 2020 WIELKANOC, St. Louis, Missouri

Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. Agatha’s Church,
Szanowni Parafianie i Przyjaciele wspólnoty parafialnej św. Agaty!

Even though we won’t be celebrating the Triduum and Easter Masses together as a parish family, I want to
encourage you & your family to meditate on the Passion, Death & Resurrection of Jesus. At the very heart of
our Christian lives, at the very heart of the life of the Church, is what we call ‘the Paschal Mystery’.
As in Holy Week, we again follow the events of our Lord’s Passion, we remember on Holy Thursday Jesus
washing the feet of his disciples, taking the role of a servant. Matthew’s Gospel ends with the Risen Jesus
appearing to his disciples in Galilee and sending them out to proclaim the good news, "Go therefore and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching
them to observe all that I have commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age."
That is our life - your life and mine. That is the Church’s mission. That is the Easter message running in our
lives and hearts - a new creation energized by the Holy Spirit, the living breath of God breathed out by the
Risen Lord on his disciples on the evening of that first Easter Day. Even though this is a difficult time of
uncertainty, we must remember that Easter is about our future, Easter is your life and mine.

This year is the Centennial Celebration of the 100 birthday of Saint John Paul II. During his pontificate, he
proclaimed: We are Easter people and “Alleluia” (Praise be to God) is our song – be sure of that! Stand firm in
the faith – in God and His Divine Providence. May God bless us, you and yours in the singing of that joyous
Alleluia song and the living of that life.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for supporting the Parish Church with your prayers, work and
especially your donations. May the Risen Christ bless each of you with His peace, joy and bestow upon you
hope, patience and love; may St. Agatha intercede for all your needs. I am remembering each of you in my
Easter Masses and prayers, and ask that you remember me in yours. Praying that you feel the Lord’s presence
and be assured of His love. A blessed Easter!

Gdy w tym roku nie możemy celebrować Świąt Zmartwychwstania Pańskiego jako rodzina parafialna, to pragnę zachęcić każdego z
Was i Waszych bliskich do szczególnego rozważenia tajemnicy Męki, Śmierci i Zmartwychwstania Jezusa Chrystusa.
W samym sercu naszego chrześcijańskiego życia, w samym sercu życia Kościoła, nazywamy to „tajemnicą paschalną”. Wielki Tydzień
ponownie daje nam, możliwość medytacji wydarzeń zbawczych związanych z Męką Pana. Pamiętajmy, że w Wielki Czwartek Jezus
umył nogi swoim uczniom, przyjmując rolę sługi.
Ewangelia Mateusza kończy się opisem, gdy Jezus Zmartwychwstały objawia się swoim uczniom w Galilei i posyła ich, aby głosili
Dobrą Nowinę: „Idźcie więc i czyńcie uczniów ze wszystkich narodów, chrzcząc ich w imię Ojca i Syna i Ducha Świętego i ucząc ich,
aby przestrzegali wszystkiego, co wam przykazałem, a oto Ja jestem z wami przez wszystkie dni, aż do skończenia świata”.
To jest nasze życie - Twoje życie i moje. To jest misja Kościoła. Takie jest przesłanie wielkanocne, które płynie w naszym życiu i
sercach - nowe stworzenie odrodzone przez Ducha Świętego, żywy oddech Boga udzielony przez Zmartwychwstałego Pana jego
uczniom wieczorem pierwszego dnia Wielkanocy. Nawet w tym czasie wyjątkowych trudności i niepewności pamiętajmy, że Wielkanoc
jest o naszej przyszłości, Wielkanoc to Twoje życie i moje.
W tym roku przypada setna rocznica 100. urodzin świętego Jana Pawła II. Podczas swojego pontyfikatu głosił: Jesteśmy ludem
wielkanocnym, a „Alleluja” (Chwacie Boga i Pana) jest naszą pieśnią – niech więc umacnia wiarę i zaufanie Bożej Opatrzności! Niech
Bóg błogosławi nas również darem śpiewu tej radosnej pieśni Alleluja i życiem w Jego łasce.
Z okazji Święta Zmartwychwstania Jezusa Chrystusa pragnę w imieniu własnym i wspólnoty parafialnej złożyć Wam i Waszym bliskim,
z serca płynące życzenia obfitych łask Bożych, prawdziwego szczęścia i radości opromienionej darami Ducha Świętego, i
wstawiennictwa św. Agaty. Pragnę też wyrazić serdeczną wdzięczność za modlitwy, prace i pomoc materialną okazywaną wspólnocie.
Niech czas Wielkanocny będzie okazją do złożenia świadectwa słowem i czynem o wierze w Boga wobec wszystkich, którzy
uczestniczą tak jak my, w pielgrzymce do życia w chwale. Radosnego Alleluja! Błogosławionych Świąt Zmartwychwstania Pańskiego!
